First timer so I didn’t anticipate this…

How can I clean the brooder plate? I don’t think I can run water over it and it’s all dried and stuck. Ideas?

try using a damp rag with white vinegar. vinegar is great for "degreasing" and help me clean the poops stuck on my pet rats ledges

Once you get it clean, buy a roll of Glad Press and Seal. Then, all you have to do is apply the Press and Seal then peel it off when it gets soiled and apply a new sheet of it. Fast, Easy and effective.

Scrape it off with a plastic putty knife and don't worry about it. :D

Unless I were selling the plate or had some kind of illness in the flock I don't see any need to get chicken equipment super clean or to create a sterile environment in my brooder.

You don't want their feed and water dirty, of course, but if the poop is perfectly dry then there's no bacterial growth to deal with . :)
