How can I get my girls to stop roosting on top of coop at night

Every night instead of going In the coop they go on top of the coop, is there anything I can put on the roof to get them to stop going up there?

I had some roosting on top of the coop, some on a pallet, some on top of the small coop, and some on low roost in the run.

I finally got the roost in the coop converted and they are all roosting inside the coop. There were a couple of nights I had to go back to the coop after dark to help them learn they needed to use the roost inside the coop.

Does the coop have enough space for everyone? Can the bottom birds get away from the top hens so they don’t get picked on while trying to roost? You can always lock them in the coop for several days to change the habit.

A chicken instinctivly knows that the higher off the ground they roost at night, the safer they will be from preditors.
We would realy be able to give you better advice if you could upload a picture of your coop insude and out.
Otherwise we are just guessing at what the real problem is and what will fix it.

I've already had fun figuring out ---erm, trying to guess what the chicks are gonna do when it comes to bed time...... Without a visual it's darn near like trying to hug a cumulonimbus cloud.
