My sweet hen is just over a year old. She has a crooked beak and cannot compete with the rest for food. She started laying well after the rest, and after a few weeks stopped. I watched her peck at the same spot in the dirt after a skinny little worm but she never got it. It’s heart breaking. How can I help her to free range? She does seem to eat from a deep dish, slowly.

It sounds like she's struggling.

Some hens with a crooked beak can often eat a wet mash a little easier than trying to pick at individual pellets. Try that.

You could also Torpedo feed her at least once daily if not more to ensure she's getting food.
This thread along with the video in the first post may be helpful to you. She has more photos at post 5.
