I know it’s not really flu season yet but it’s coming and last year there was no end to the flies! How can I keep them out of the coop they are so annoying! One week it kept raining so I couldn’t clean the coop then the flies hatched maggots and I had to clean the coop in the rain and it was a big mess I really need help with this and anything is much appreciated!!! Thanks so much!!!

I meant it’s not really fly season yet

No. Try using shavings in the nesting boxes as well. When are you cleaning yuor coop and how many chickens do you have?

We have shavings in the nest boxes as well we have a big coop and only six girls living in it we had a rooster living in it but not any longer

Then i don't know! I suppose you could spray something you would spray for lice to kill the bugs?? Sorry i couldn't be mroe help!:(

Prevention now is a great idea. Clean the Coop often and be sure you are disposing of the litter as far away from the coop as possible. Fly Strips / Rolls are handy, but by themselves won’t work. Spraying with a safe product that has Permethrin will help.
