How can I move my dust bath???

My 2 chickens have found their favorite spot to dust bathe, but they do so by ruining a patch of grass. We have a large patch of dirt for them but they won’t use it!! How can I encourage them to stop messing up my grass and use the dirt patch I’ve set aside for them??

Once they start something like that it’s hard to get them to stop or impossible. I throw a piece of wire on the spot when they do it like hardware cloth or some kind of wire mesh like that or they won’t stop. You could add a little sand and wood ash to there intended dust bath.

Fence 'em in or fence 'em out!!
Have tried several 'intentional' dust bathing areas and ingredients,
Nah, no go....chickens gonna go where they want and can.
