as we are tearing down my old coop we started ripping off the old shingles and were horrified at what he uncovered...

huge i mean huge carpenter ant nest

how can i stop the ants and other wood eating insects from getting into the new coop?

Sevin dust worked to get rid of my ant problem...you just need to be careful of chicken exposure...
