my chicks are about 6 weeks old and i got them from a hatchery. they said that they were all layers but sometimes they get mixed up. here is a picture of "Jennifer" the Colombian rock is (s)he a boy or a girl. because i do not want a roo called "Jennifer"

. she dwarfs "Shelby" the rhode island red.

At that age, it looks like a male. But wait a few more weeks to confirm. Keep us updated on comb growth and behavior.

My chickens are 12 weeks. Got them at 4. 2 R.I.R.s and 2 Orpingtons. They were all pullets so I was told but I have my suspicions about one of my reds larger come and wattles larger legs, does some chest bumping. Lately she/he stand back while the other three get meal worm treats from me. Not off her feed or anything but its almost like she's watching the 3 eat the treat. Today they finally moved into their coop we built, been going out looking at thèm all day. Well tonight after dark the 3 are huddled up by the nest area entrance and Millie (or Billie) is down below on the roost alone. I don't believe she's sick poop is normal eyes clear ect. So I'm asking, does a roo sleep alone or will he roost with the girls. They are in an enclosed roost run structure and it is their first night. Never had this 2 story living before and were kept in a pen and taken out daily in a Peck & Play till this house was completed. I give you all this info because I can't seem to post a pic.
