how can i tell wether males or females in my buff orphintons?

by 8 or 9 weeks the combs and waddles on the boys will be bigger and redder. They will also stand more upright. It's easier to see when you have a lot of them to compare with.

So you would say the chick in the front is a cockerel? All the same age in the pic.

No the 2 solid black ones are astrolops and the black with white tipped feathers are silver wyonettes.

Id agree on the slw being male. I have a slw a bit older and her lacing is tighter and her comb is still very pink.

OP has three cockerels.
The slw in question is a cockerel.

Any bird with a red comb under say 4 months is definitely a male.
