how can i tell when my chickens will lay????

I've always noticed that right before they start to lay their combs and waddles get larger and brighter red, they get really chatty, and they squat and hold their wings up a bit when you reach down which I think is because they are lookin for some lovin cause they know eggs are coming. Just my theory. Plus you'll notice when they're standing that their hips get a little wider. And when you hear them start screaming, start lookin for eggs. There's usually a little blood on the first couple eggs but I'm sure they're still fine.
