Texas A&M is a color of coturnix quail, they aren't their own species just jumbo white coturnix. You can vent sex but if a hen has been bred that same day she'll produce foam from her vent just like a roo so it's not a good method for beginners (it doesn't work at all on other breeds besides coturnix). With A&Ms you have pretty much have to watch for birds to crow and then band or remove them from the cage. YOu can band with loose fitting zip ties to avoid having to search for bands.Im wondering the same thing for my Texas A&M quail?
Using a zip tie for a leg band.....what a great idea. Thanks!Texas A&M is a color of coturnix quail, they aren't their own species just jumbo white coturnix.
