I'm swearing by the magnet on a string method! Hold it an inch or two from the back, over the chick, if it goes in a circle its a hen, a straight line its a rooster. I tested on my dogs and it was correct each time. All animals have magnetism in their bodies, apparently males & females give off different magnetic vibes.

That's interesting too. I have eleven babies right now... of those- three (possibly 4) should be roos by the above mentioned method. When I get out of work tomorrow, I'll try the string method. Wouldn't it be interesting if the same ones showed roo for each method...
