How can you tell if ducklings are too cold?

Might need a bigger pad....looks like they would barley fit underneath.
What is the ambient temp where you/they live?

What are the temps in your room you have them in? does it have heat on?

They're in the house, where it's between 66 and 68 F. The heat is on this week, but it wasn't for the past several weeks.

Maybe I'll look into a bigger pad. They all fit in now, with room to spare, but they sure won't in another week. I think it looks so small with the foreshortening in the picture.

This morning when I got up, six were on top, and four underneath.

And I just realized that the whole tub is on top of a heat vent, so the wood shavings are toasty warm too.
