Could anyone tell me how to tell if your peeper(chick) has mites?
I heard that you can dust them with mite powder. But, my chickies are scratching at themselves and shaking themselves and ruffling their feathers alot. They're about two weeks old now. I read another post that said new feathers are itchy, but do they get new feathers this early?

i flip mine on its back and open the wings up and if i see things crawling around then thats proubly mites..
I had some cute little chicks i got once little frizzle mix who where infested with mites...I learned the hard way how to find those little varmits...

It is more than likely the new feathers that are coming in that is making them itch.

If you can't see little bugs crawling around under their wing feathers or near their vent area, then it's the feathers coming in.
