thanks, I know what to look for, I was wondering how long does it take to be very noticeable ?

I put two eggs into the bator yesterday.. when can I crack them open? I am almost blind, so please do not tell me to candle..

You mean you want to crack them open to see if they're fertile and not finish incubating? You can see plenty at four days, including a beating heart. Even at two days, you will see what looks like storm clouds on the yolk.

I am donating a bator and 2 dozen eggs to a grade school and i don't want to send a bunch of "blanks".. these hens have just started laying for this season so I quickly added 3 barred rock roosters into the mix so I am hoping they are doing their job.. there are 15 hens and 3 roosters.. I see activity out there, so I am quite sure we will be good to go ..
