I have a dog two cats and six chickens. The dog will chase them but never catches them. the cats on the other hand will just sit close by the chickens and watch. but if a chicken gets too close............wooosh they shoot away from the chickens like they are afraid of them.

I had a chick peck one of my cats on the nose. He forever after gave the brooder a 3ft min distance and never even looked at the chicks. The other would sit and watch them. And try to 'pat' one every so often. She wasn't allowed in the same room with them unattended. As adults they don't interact, my cats are indoor only and chickens only come in if they are sick.

I had the chickens in the house when they were chicks. Needless to say,my dog who was a hyper 1 year old at the time, got alot of "don't touches" and stern looks lol. Poor guy. But he is great with them now. And my cats, well, last week one of them were dust bathing with my girls..too sweet
