I have the Eco 20.

I clean the bottom yellow part, the basket and the egg rails with hot soapy water and let dry in the sun. Then I unscrew the "ceiling" part from under the lid, wash that in hot soapy water, air/sun dry. I use a can of electronics cleaner/canned air to clean the fan and electronic components (well the ones I can reach anyway).

I still worry that there is bacteria somewhere in there that will damage my next hatch...

Am I over/under doing it?

How do you clean yours??

I just think about a messy nest in the straw with a broody who has just taken a dust bath and I don't worry about it too much. Chickens do just fine without all of the cleaning, so the bator should too.

I clean my ECO 20 similar to how you clean yours but I don't open the top of the Advance unless it is really dirty. I use the disinfectant sold by Brinsea.
