Hello
In process of building my coop and roofed run. The run and coop will be 8 long x 6 wide x 7 height for 3 Buff Orpington.
Live in southern Florida so it gets extremely hot and humid. Have excellent drain so puddling is not a problem.
Today was so hot the 3 week old chicks spent the day under bushes.
The coop will be 6 feet wide - 4 feet high, how deep should it be ?

If it gets miserably hot and humid, why are you building a coop? They won't use it. It will be too hot and impossible to get great air flow. Go with a 3 sided wire aviary with a solid back wall.

I considered it but the rains here can very extremely powerful, it can come in near to 90 degrees. The roof will not protect them from powerful rains. Do you still think not having a coop is a good idea ?

Some type of structure is always best. Is 3 hens your limit? Your proposed coop is very spacious for just 3. If you downsize the coop but still have the same size roof structure, you will create larger overhang that will help with the sideways rain. Keep the prevailing wind side solid. You could do the lower 4' solid and wire on the upper portion. Placing the roosts high in the open wired section will make them more comfortable. If your floor is sand, I wouldn't be too worried about some rain in the coop as you should have good drainage.
You can also do canvas sides on an aviary that you can roll up and down with the weather. Can help create more shade in the late afternoon. Shade cloth like Textilene is water repellent when vertical but has an open weave construction allowing airflow. If you have an installation company nearby, you can often find rolls of shade fabric in the dumpster.
Sample of what I'm talking about
