I used to have moles. A lot of them. Hills all over the 10 acres. Then we got lucky with a couple of our cats. They were the best hunters. Problem solved… for now. I have not seen a mouse or a rat. Ever. I think the moles sent out a memo. Currently, I have HC 2 feet out around the perimeter and having just pulled the weeds around the fence yesterday, I see no breaches in the prison.

I just recently lost my kitty, and he had been sick for a while (cancer) so wasn’t spending time outside hunting like he used to, and I think that’s when the rat problem started, so you may well be right! I think I will put the cloth around the outside as well. I did see a neighbor’s cat hanging around outside the run where the rats were entering, so maybe there will be a memo sent to the local cat community to come over
