I am anxiously awaiting to hear if this is indeed an albino - very interesting information about albinism in birds deerman!

so, if you bred albino hen to bronze tom, what would you get?

Bronze tom X albino hen = all bronze hens, all bronze tom carry (split)the albino

you may be interested to know that if you breed A & M to A & M enough you will eventually get Albinos. They call it an undesirable trait.... i think that albinos are neat.... I do feel bad for them in the sun though.

deerman so that works for ALL bird species (about the hen not carrying the albino-gene)? If so that is awesome!!!! Good to know since I only house one roo per breeding cage so once I do find it in my flock I'll know which roo produces it!

In rabbits, it is a simple recessive gene. Both does and bucks can carry it. Any rabbit out of an albino (called REW aka: ruby-eyed white) will carry the gene recessively. So, that was my statistics given from my experience with rabbit color genetics.

interesting - I'm hoping to order some A&M eggs sometime...... I asked the breeder that I got my eggs from if she ever got A&M from her tux's - and she said occasionally and that she culled them as undesirable. I had hoped to get at least one in the tux egg hatch, but didn't.....

If female has a albino gene, she will show that color.

Do remember back when Marsh Farm import these Quail back in the 60s. He had albino and the english white, both.

Sound like some of your a& m carry the gene, if so it will be a male.

You could bred one of your albino males to all brown hens, and be able to sex them at day old. all brown males, and all albino hen

Oh to get an albino male his mother must be an albino, and bred to a male split to albino.

So breed one of your albino back to her father. or another male that produce albino hens

OH you mean to get an albino male!? SOO! Are you saying that if it shows up recessively in my A & Ms that it will be a hen, and that I will have to take that hen and breed her to lets say her sibling (or her father?) and that will produce me male albinos OR am I completlely confused

I'll be getting off here soon (gotta go buy another brooder bulb lol) so I wont be here to ask more confused questions for a bit (to give you a rest haha)!
