How did you determine how big your run should be?

I'm thinking of 10' x 10' but I'm not sure yet. Right now I only have two but I'd like to expand to somewhere between 4-12.

Funny, that's exactly what I did without realizing it. I'm planning on 10-15 chickens and my run is 32x20 .. lot's of chicken math in there! I just figured however many I was getting would appreciate ample room to roam.​

I use what I had without buying anything else. I ended up with a 15X15 run. It's an older AKC kennel from Tractor Supply. I have roof bows for it but the way I have it layed out I can't use um. I have to figure out something else.
