How did you get your chicken???

I got my first at a fair,She was a golden sex link.We got her and two others with the purchase of a coop. It was a good deal!! I named her eagle or eagie for short. I named her eagle because when she perched on a roost she she stretched herself out like an eagle ready to take flight.But sadly she passed away a few years ago. The two others Eggy and Jaime are still alive today fortunately!! then I guess a few years later in 2011 I got a call from my friend sherry. She works at a daycare center and was hatching chicks. And when the farmer picked them up he forgot one.Sherry contacted him and he said he didn't want it. so sherry was stuck with it,then she called me and told me what happened then she dropped it off to me and thus my new chicken niki was given to me.She grew and developed and I finally figured what breed she was, A jumbo Cornish rock!!! She was a my all time favorite. She only lived for a year.She died last year in October due to a hawk.

I miss her a lot because she loved to be held and always perched on my deck waiting for me to feed her every morning. She also pecked at the door to be let in and drank out of my dogs water bowl. It was great having her around and I miss eating her eggs.
