A dove has built her nest in a tree right outside the kitchen window so we always get to her. I’m pretty sure at least one egg has hatched because I’ve seen her feeding it. Well anyways, I’m wondering when a baby dove learns to fly will they fall out of the nest and stay on the ground for a while. We have two outside dogs and I’d be worried they’d eat it. We also have the chickens; I’m not sure if they’d eat it though. Thanks!

Captive pigeon and doves will flap their wings for a few days gently hovering off the ground to build up their wing muscles, so I imagine their wild counterparts would do the same. You may want to keep your eye on it as it may go on the floor. However wild doves are much better flyers than most of their captive relatives and can get off the ground at about 3 weeks of age so it should be fine.
