How do E-bay auctions work??

A good system with AB, as you've noticed that bid items get more attention, is to watch auctions you want but NOT bid. Allow them to end. Then contact the seller with an offer amount and ask them to make a buy it now listing for you to snap up asap. Solves that whole competition thing when other people notice fish have bids.

People can be so silly about wanting what someone else wants.. LOL

I managed with the "swooshing in" method to snap up some really nice fish for the reserve price... but I've also contacted the sellers privately and asked for similar sibling fish when others were bidding beserkily over this one or that... and the sellers are usually more than happy to make another sale for a much more decent price.

I KNOW some of those sellers on there have "friends" (or maybe just other accounts) that bid on their own listings. Those guys I avoid. Then the same fish comes up every couple of weeks if they don't get a real bidder for it.

So far i'm still highest bidder..
Now i kinda hope he swoops in.. i dont really want to pay $60 for it..

But if i win, it'll be good, cuz its for my FIL for Christmas... so...
well see... 50 minutes left..

24 min left.. should i up the bid.. just to make him pay more..

But then i may get stuck with it..

I usually give out my max bid and stay away from bidding anymore. I don't want to pay anymore than I don't really need to. There is a limit.

I hate those snipers or someone who is a friend of the seller that would bump up the prices. How do we know they are the ones that are doing it?
