I have windows in my garage that I picked up during garbage day. For my metal shed that will not hold the heavy windows well I just cut a hole and put in some plexi glass.It is held in place with duct tape.No air but good light!

If you go the plexiglass and wood route, and you live in a climate with temp extremes, you may want to keep in mind that both plexiglass and wood shrink and expand with moisture and heat. So leave some room for movement or things will go out of alignment.
