I was given a box full of old galvanized feeders and waters and need to know how to clean them up and sanitize them so I can put them to use? Any tips would be appreciated...TIA

I would use 10 %bleach and soap, and scrub them out good. Then rinse well to get the bleach off so that it doesn't rust the metal. Soap and water work fine with your own chicken's germs, but I would be weary of other chickens.

I was thinking bleach solution and soapy water but wasnt sure if that would work on the galvanized feeders without it eating them up or ruining them somehow... And I agree about other chicken's germs... I don't know what conditions they were used in or the health of previous flocks..... thanks everyone!!!

x2 on some bleach, plus make sure the water is as hot as you can stand working with it.
