How do I find an avain vet?

I tryed google but nothing really turned up and I want to show but ya got to have those birds checked

posting this with the following caveat: Most avian vets specialize in exotics (not poultry). It is possible that you might get more help by calling local university or ag. extension service to run down a vet.

I posted the link for another member who had an egg bound hen. His experience was less than satisfactory (maybe an anomaly, maybe not).

It is possible that it does not list all vets. I looked up my state and my vets were not listed. My vet is an avian specializing in exotics but she sees my chickens as well as my parrots. You may want to call the ones listed in South Texas and see if they can recommend someone closer to you. Worth a shot!
 
In my experience you might have to become you own vet.Chickens are throw away livestock,not worth the expense of helping.I know a woman named Gail damerrow ,wrong spelling on last name,has a good book about chicken ailments.
