How do I get a zip tie off?

Hello,
I put a zip tie on a barred rock I have to distingiush it from the other br because it needs special viamins, just released from the "hospital" on a day trip. I put a zip tie on her leg, tight enough that it won't fall down over her foot. It is not tight enough to cause circulation problems but I forgot to leave space to get scissors in between. How in the heck will i get this thing off?

Do you have a tin snips? It's like a pair of pliers, but with cutting edges. That should work.

I would just use the tips of scissors, being careful to not cut the chicken. Zip ties will break when partially cut. Good luck

try using some thing like a pair of nail clippers to nibble away at the side of it.
less room needed and safer for the bird then sizzors
i use wire ties / zip ties daily at work as i am a electrican
and have not safe way to release them once put on.

The nail clippers are a good idea, much better control over a moving target.

Just had to do something similiar two nights ago. I was making halloween baskets for the kids in the peds department at work. I closed the halloween cellphane wrap with zip ties, then realized I'd forgotten to put in the stickers.

So glad the baskets weren't moving birds.
