we have 10 week old chicks that refuse to go into coop at night. we have older chickens that already sleep in the coop. the chicks roost outside in trees next to coop. I tried moving chicks into coop and they were all panicked as if I was holding them hostage. they ran out as fast as they could. How do I get them to sleep in the coop?

Mine are 14 weeks old and started going in straight away almost with a bit of training. I'd sprinkle some food in my palm and slowly lead them in. Even now, whenever I say "Food!" they run into the coop and wait. If you're looking for a way to do it, associate going into the coop with one of their favourite treats; mine love lettuce and cooked pasta.

Good luck with your chicken adventures!
