How do I get my chickens to leave their new coop?

My problem switched gears tonight. They were all out of the coop by 5:00 pm and by dusk only 3 Anconas were smart enough to go back in. The idiots were climbing all over each other in the corner of the run and one almost smothered. I had to bang against the run and yell bloody murder (I'm wondering why the neighbors didn't call 911) to break them up. The poor little Welsummer was just laying there for 5 minutes or so (I'd already lost one on Monday to this "crush" thing, although I didn't know why the chick had died until seeing this happen tonight). He snapped out of it and my husband crawled into the run and either handed them out to me to put in the coop or put them thru their coop door. Hopefully they'll soon figure it out that they come out in the morning and go in at night...oh bother.
