How do I get my chickens to use laying boxes?

I have 13 chickens close to laying age. Yet they want no part of the laying quarters I made for them....what do I do?

Golf balls or ceramic eggs work for most folks.

I use golf balls because ceramic eggs are so expensive, and my chickens lay just fine!

They might not be close enough.
How old are your birds @lovemylilchicks ?

Please post pics of your "laying quarters"....and the rest of your coop and run.

I have even used roundish rocks. But as stated above, it takes forever to get them to lay. If they have reddened up the comb, and wattle, they are closer - but it still might be 4 weeks until they lay.

Don't let them sleep in the nests, so if they are ignoring the nests, more than likely they have no urge for a nest yet.
