How do I get rid of mites

Mites or lice have layed huge gross egg sacks around my chickens tail feathers how to I get rid of them? Also, do I treat the coop?

Yes, you will need to treat your coop/housing and the birds. You can use Permethrin, Elector PSP. Some folks use Frontline, Sevin, etc.

Most times you get most effective advice from one thread. Gives everyone one specific spot to hash out what you’re up against and help you get on top of the issue.

I know that, and I did. I just figured it would also be good to get advice from people who have actually dealt with mites.

Sometimes having a lot of "advice" ends up confusing - I mean, lot of suggestions, but all basically the same right?
Easiest thing to do is go to your Tractor Supply or similar store, pick up some Permethrin concentrate, a spray bottle and if possible a small garden sprayer.
Read the label on the concentrate, mix up the permethrin per the label. Treat the birds. Treat the housing. Repeat in 7 day intervals.
