How do I get the metal leg band off?

The ducks were shipped from Metzer farms, arriving this Tuesday, and they came with metal bands around one leg that were loose at the time. Boy have the girls grown, though! I just looked at the babies and the leg bands seem to be squeezing their leg meat in! I want to take them off this very minute, but they are so squirmy, and the bands are metal. Is there a trick?

If they have a seam, just spread the band at the seam. If seamless they will need cut off.

if you take needle nose plyers and gently put them behind the seem and spread them apart it will losen and fall off

I was afraid to wait any longer, so I got nail clippers and clipped them off. I was scared! After the bands came off, they had deep indents in their legs, poor things. But yeah, it's over.
