Ok....having sorta the same issues....
Our chickens have been in their coop for about 2 weeks now....of the ten, only about half have figured out the ramp to get up into the coop. The others just scamper around the bottom, stretching their necks, cocking their heads, and whining to get in. I have found that if I wait long enough, I no longer have to chase them around the yard to catch them before it's completely dark. They kind of have figured out I'm there to help.
Here in lies the question....
Should I modify their ramp/ladder to climb into the coop? What do most of you use?
I currently have a board with rungs nailed to it......
