How do I get used to chicken poop all over the yard?

Love your trellis gate Twinklin. I've been letting my girls free range as well, and they're now traveling up to the front lawn. I was happy when they stayed on the back and side lawns, but I guess the front lawn has bugs too! I have used the hose to shoo them out of the rose bed. I also have a 1600 s.f. electronet run around their "tractor" (which ended up being too big and heavy to move, so it's permanently parked on some cinder blocks.) The electronet is very easy to move around the yard, and it would be easy to set up around your moving tractor. That would keep the chicken bombs in a predictable area. You could do the same thing with any light wt fencing.

I got sick of the poop on the lawn as we always get around in bare feet here. I've given them a bigger run in the back of my garden using wire netting and I just let them out on the lawn the day or two before we are going to mow the lawn. Has worked well for me so far.

Thanks. We live in the desert and have mostly the southwest style landscaping with the small stones instead of grass. The backyard is like 1/3rd stone landscape, 1/3 concrete patio/pool, and 1/3 grass. The back yard is separated from the front by a 5-6ft high block wall that goes around the entire back yard. All the grass area is in the back so luckily that little gate is all that's needed to keep them confined to the grass part of the lawn.
