how do i include an avatar picture?????

can anyone tell me how to post a picture for my avatar? It only takes my image if I make it about the size of the head of a pin. I've tried 100x100 pixels at 72dpi, 15KB and everything down to miniscule. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Make sure that the "size on disk" is under 15. Sometimes it says it's only 15, but the "size on disk is actually larger. Try making sure it is in jpg too, since other formats are less compressed.

my mom showed me how to make an avatar work, but we couldn't get many images to work. Mine is of my sweet hen Nelly.
