It always goes better when more than just one is added in with the flock. For instance I keep my seramas indoors over winter, just a few days ago I put them back out with the rest of the flock, the roosters had a few issues but after they beat the snot out of each other for a half a day or so they leave each other alone now. The hens had no problems rejoining. Had I just put one hen out there she would have been killed too.
