They arent motivated to hop the run fence....but that delicious garden is plenty motivating to get into.roughly 4 feet. that's just about the height of our run, though they never escape the run.

don't tell my girls they can do this. my fence is only about 5 ft and clipped. it has worked for a while.'4 ft is a piece of cake for chickens, my run is 6 feet and I have only had 1 chicken get out. Though, she got a running start and climbed up the fence! With clipped wings! My chickens fly 4 ft up easy with clipped wings, even the buff Orpingtons!
I just use chicken wire so they can pick through the fence and I don’t mind if they do that. There is plenty to go around. I just make sure I throw a lot of seeds out before it rains.Wow, I guess I am really lucky then because I grow almost all my own food and I let my chickens out to free range and my wire fences around my veggies are only 3 feet high. I just put metal stakes in the ground and chicken wire around the areas.View attachment 1801088View attachment 1801089
