Hello, I assisted one of my ducklings

and he is doing well. He is now two days old and walking around. He seems to lean on one leg more than the other and that leg seems to be splayed. Would he be able to walk if his leg was splayed? How do I know if he has a splayed leg? CDC0C22C-09C9-4AA2-A429-7942EDAECE28.jpeg

I have found those incubator mats can sometimes be a tad slippery - could you try switching the duckling onto towels, and see if she gets around better? Do you still have her in the incubator?
She is out of the incubator, I did have her in the brooder on a towel, I took the picture on the rubber mats (I was making sure she could walk on it). It was pretty much the same “walk” on the towel. But I can put the towel back & see if she improves. Should I give her an extra day?

I would give her one more day, and if she's still the same proceed with splayed legs treatment. Are you familiar with correcting splayed legs?

I did find a thread here on fixing it 🙂 but any new suggestions would be great too!
Thank you!

I had luck in correcting splay leg by using vet wrap around her legs after they were aligned properly. My duckling developed it when she was a few weeks old and yours is obviously much newer. I had a pekin, and she grew so fast, that I believe she was deficient on Niacin - so I also supplemented with Vitamin B complex and it did turn things around for her. Good luck with your little one.
