How do I know if I should worm my chickens?

We are new to having the chickens. We started in March and really enjoy and love our chickens. I dont know if we are to treat them on a regular basis or not for worms. We free range our chickens so they are not kept in a pen at all times. They have their coop they stay in at night. I have noticed some really runny poo in the yard and on the driveway. I want healthy chickens but do not want to do anything that will harm them or cause the eggs to be unhealthy. Any help would be appreciated.

thank you. I still need a little more info on this. It says to alternate Ivermectin and Safeguard. Is this something I can pick up at Tractor Supply and how much and how often do I do this? I dont mean to sound ignorant I just want to make sure I do what needs to be done without causing more damage.
