how do I know if its winterized with no drafts?

I got an older used coop and fixed up the issues that it had... but are there general guidelines to go by to know if your coop is draft free? I have ventilation at the top on the two sides. I had to put some roosts pretty high because they were roosting over the nest boxes on the little roof on the nest box and it was accumulating poop, so I put a roost higher than that so they'd roost on the actual roost. there is a lower roost a few feet down but they won't roost there....

my question is, when its cold and wintery will they roost in the lower roost or will they roost still on the higher one? (you can see their little faces through the ventilation, its that high)...


what things do I do to know whether or not the coop is draft free in general?

Can you post pics? That would be the best way to collect opinions

Yes, they will almost certainly continue to roost on the highest roost, even if it gives them frostbite. So, you may need to either close those vents (use others in winter) or remove that roost.

oooh, ok... I guess I'll have to remove that roost then. that stinks! but, I don't want them getting frostbite.
