How do I know if my turkey is a meat bird

The farmer didn't say anything about being meat bird.. but I didn't ask.
 
All turkeys are edible, you have it early enough in the year that a Broad Breasted will be around 30-40lbs by Thanksgiving and a heritage breed will be 15-20lbs. You can look at photos of the full grown birds on murray mcmurrays website to try to see what you have! Meyer Hatchery has a growth chart for the broad breasted, you could weigh them around 5 weeks old to see what they are "on track" to weigh by Thanksgiving. So basically if they aren't close to that chart, you probably have a heritage. Not necessarily, but a good chance.
