I just got up (I work graveyards) and there are two eggs in the duck pen. But, how do I know if they've been fertilized? I don't want to waste them, but if there's a duck there, I'd rather expand the brood. I put them up to light and can't see anything, but I would think that's too soon anyway.

Well if you have seen your ducks doing the deed then that at least ensures they could be. You'll have to wait a few days before you see any development (veins), so incubated these couple and see if they grow. If not, don't bother incubating more unless you can be be sure there is a chance they're fertile

yes like AdamD77 said, you need to incubate or wait to see if your hen will sit but that wont be till shes got a full clutch.(at lease 10 eggs) I would incubate. lol Good luck, ~Julie~
