I just got these lady about a week ago at a farm market they said they are already laying eggs and are 6 months old. They haven’t payed an egg yet. I’m just hoping I’m doing everything right. They have unlimited food and water

Check out this article to help determine if your chickens are/were laying.

It is not abnormal for a chicken to quit laying due to stress. Even if they were laying at their old home, they may quit due to the stress of moving to a new home. It can take a month or more before a chicken will lay an egg after moving homes like this. It might not be anything that is your fault or anything that you can fix; they just need to settle in.

So maybe where I got them from weren’t saying the truth about them already laying.
More than likely.
If they had been laying previously, you'd have gotten an egg the day after you bought them(one already in process)...but the stress of moving can put them off laying util they are comfortable again.
