How do I know who is laying and who isn't???

I would guess, depending upon their age, that roughly half of your hens are laying. Understand that it can take several weeks after adding supplemental lighting before egg laying resumes.

I am measuring across, right?? below the breast bone?

I measured one that i know is laying and one that isn't and I can tell the difference, but just making sure i am measuring across before they 'retire'.

Are they all the same breed? I think the game camera is a good idea. I put a camera in one of my coops because I was fin ding eggs outside of the coop and run. I still don't know how they got their. The camera didn't show anything.

all different breeds.

i might seperate the ones that i don't think are laying for a few days and see if any eggs show before I retire them.

Yes but I have mine hooked up to a DVR and my DVR hooked up to my computer so I can go through the pics. My camera is actually a video camera and not a still picture camera.
