I've had almost no eggs for 5 days so I assumed it was the heat as this is thier first summer. So, I added a small pool, a 2nd waterer, a coop fan and upped thier favorite treats. Still, no eggs n no one is molting so the only other thing I haven't looked for is mites. They hens are 8 mos old and ive never dusted them :-/. Should I do that now or wait til fall?

They are golden buffs (sex links) and are 8 mos old. They have both layed everyday since they started and started laying large eggs right from the start. I also have 1 5 1/2 mo old rhode island and 2 51/2 mo old barred rocks. I got a small pinkish egg yesterday from the RIR I suspect. Her first egg;-). The barred rocks haven't layed yet. Is deworming a shot or liquid put into thier mouths? How long do I wait before deciding to deworm? I have an even dumber question now... Will the sex links get egg bound if they stop laying so suddenly after being so consistent? Ty all, I appreciate any input. :)
