How do I make chicks friendly?

My Polands are so soft,as soon as I pick them up they fall asleep!

I'm new to chicks and they are 2 1/2 weeks old, but some were friendly in the first week.
One BR runs up to me, she likes to perch on my hand or arm. I wonder if she was imprinted to people.
Two BO's have just begun the same behavior in the last 2 days.
One SLW is running over but not too interested in perching on me.
I suppose 4 friendlies out of 16 isn't too bad.
Today I sat on the ground in their 8' round outdoor pen and nearly all the rest began to investigate me.
Who knows, tomorrow they may have forgotten who I am!
