How do I make my coop secure?

order one of these, and use the carabiner to secure it.

in the mean time, grab a block of wood maybe 4” long and screw it into the door and frame. you’ll have to unscrew it to get into the coop, but it’ll be secure against any predators until you can get a better lock.
I wish I could do that but my lock is weird and it doesn’t have the loop on the bottom. It looks like this.

i know. i said order one of the ones i posted. amazon will have it to you in 2 days.

in the meantime, use a block of wood that stops the door from opening. if it makes it hard for you to get in, it makes it hard for a predator

In a pinch, could you loop wire or baling twine and tie/wrap it to make sure that a raccoon couldn't just slide the latch? Like if there were 2 adjoining panels with hardware cloth that you could run the wire through, and twist it around wood.

I guess if you had a rachet strap laying around you could go around some whole coops
