How do I make the columbian pattern?

Yes, the BR has silver and columbian. The buckeye has the correct e-gene and also columbian.

For red barred start with a buckeye rooster over barred hens.
Use a barred cockerel from the cross over a buckeye hen.
Now you should get a few gold/red chickens with barring.

Yes.
Somehow a red barred buckeye sounds more interesting...

So did the topic change from making Columbian Wyandottes to making Red Barred Buckeyes ???????? I got lost for a minute.

But on the Columbian Wyandotte deal. You can use just any White Wyandotte and think you are going to get the same thing that someone else got using a White Wyandotte or any recessive breed for that matter. You have to know what color genetics are under them. You I believe you would need them to be masking Silver laced or Columbian. But like my White Wyandottes should be masking barring so breeding a Barred Rock roo to them should give me all barred chicks and I wouldnt exspect to have columbians coming out of that. So personally I dont thing Barred X Rec. White would be the way to go to make Columbian colored birds.

I guess so!
OK so it would not work....
thanks

It might be possible to start there, but its just not as simple as breeding any Barred Rock with any White Wyandotte .
