How do I post a picture of a Hawk in my back yard

I have a pic of a hawk sitting in the trees in my back yard. How do I post it on here to see if any of you can identify the type of hawk it is?

See the paper clip below the reply window that says "attach files"? Click on it. That opens your computer. Then click on where you store photos. Then select that hawk photo and click on "open". That will bring it out of your file to this thread. I like to select the top option for "full size" and click, then click "post".

This is a pic of the hawk. We have had two chickens go missing in the last 3 months. One we never found, but the most recent we found a cluster of feathers in our neighbors yard. We assumed that the neighbors dog got it. But now I'm wondering if it was a hawk.

Looks like a Red Tailed Hawk, also known as a Chicken Hawk.

If the hawk is hanging around, it's a good bet it's there for more chicken meals. Try making loud noises to frighten it off. You may need to do it more than once when it returns.

I live in south Georgia if that helps ID the hawk. Red Tails are native to ur area.

I'm just outside of Savannah, we have a very healthy population of Red Tailed Hawks in the area. When I see one stalking the chickens I keep them in their enclosed run for a few days until it seems to lose interest before free ranging again.

I have red tails, goshawks, and bald eagles. The red tails nest here every year. Besides those, we have bear, fox, raccoons, possums, mink and bobcats. My property is like Marty Stouffer's "Wild America." I wish I could free range. No such luck.

Maybe lock your birds up for a few days so it gets bored of waiting and goes to look for food elsewhere. You can also add a small structure or two (brush pile, or you can make something) and put them out in the open for them to run underneath if the hawk should swoop down.
