I just sent you a PM, but I had to locate my dad years ago, and the military helped me. They were the nicest bunch of folks I have ever dealt with. I marched my 15 year old self into a local veteran adminstration building( told them the whole crazy story), and they then sent me to another local military building, which then found him, and gave me a number to call in California. I got home, and called that number, and they informed me he was stationed in Korea( it turned out he wasn't retired). They gave me a number to call there. I called it, and spoke to his boss who then had him call me back immediately. It was a great experience, and we are closer because of it.
When I was looking for him we didn't have google, or the internet yet. I found his social security number on old tax records, and a vehicle registration. I was a kid on a mission, and both the military, and my dad were impressed with my detective skills.
